About the role

Atelier Wen (www.atelierwen.com) is an independent luxury watch brand on a mission to celebrate and elevate global perceptions of Chinese culture and craftsmanship. We work with the best of China’s designers, craftsmen and watchmakers to make timepieces that showcase the finest of China’s crafts and workmanship while at the same time authentically reflecting our identity as a Franco-Chinese team.

Atelier Wen has been featured in top global media from The New York Times, CCTV and Le Figaro to Hodinkee, Worn & Wound, Revolution and Watchfinder.

About the Role

The PR & Client Relations Manager owns how the brand is talked about and how our most valuable clients experience it. That covers press, KOLs, VIP relations, community, events and reputation.

Success is measured in coverage, share of voice, earned media value, KOL performance and the follow-on purchases VIPs make.

What You'll Own

Press

  • Build and run the annual PR plan, tied to launches, collections and brand moments.
  • Own relationships with editors, journalists and stylists in priority markets.
  • Write press releases, press kits and briefing notes; manage sampling and press loans.
  • Pitch stories, secure features and placements, and manage interview requests.

KOLs and creators

  • Identify, vet and onboard KOLs who fit the brand, from top-tier talent to micro-creators.
  • Brief, contract and manage gifting, seeding and paid partnerships end to end.
  • Track each KOL's reach, engagement, content quality and sales impact; renew or drop on the evidence.

VIP relations

  • Own the VIP client list and the experience each VIP receives: clienteling, gifting, previews, private appointments and after-care.
  • Keep a single, accurate record of every VIP's preferences, history and touchpoints.

Community

  • Grow and look after the brand's community of clients, fans and advocates, online and offline.
  • Run community programmes, ambassador schemes and moderated spaces; respond in the brand's voice.

Events

  • Plan and deliver press days, launches, VIP dinners, trunk shows and partner activations.
  • Own guest lists, invitations, run-of-show, budgets and post-event follow-up.

Reputation

  • Monitor media and social sentiment daily; flag risks early.
  • Handle sensitive client complaints that carry reputational risk, with Customer Service.

How Success Is Measured

The role reports five measures monthly, with a quarterly review against targets agreed in the first 90 days.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 5+ years in PR, communications or client relations, with significant experience in the watch industry.
  • Strong knowledge of horology and watch collector culture.
  • An active network of editors, journalists and KOLs in at least one of our priority markets (US, APAC, GCC), and the ability to build it in the others.
  • A track record of running ambassador and influencer marketing programmes end to end: selection, contracting, briefing and measurement.
  • Experience building and running community programmes, online and offline.
  • A track record of running VIP or high-net-worth client programmes and events end to end.
  • Proven crisis and issues handling, including drafting holding statements.
  • Comfort with numbers: you report coverage, share of voice, EMV and KOL ROI without being asked.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Discretion with high-profile clients and confidential information.

Nice to have

  • Relationships with watch media, collectors, collector clubs and auction houses.
  • Experience at major watch fairs and events, such as Watches and Wonders Geneva or Dubai Watch Week.
  • A second language relevant to our markets, such as Mandarin, Cantonese, or Arabic.
  • Experience with regional platforms, such as Xiaohongshu, WeChat, Weibo or LINE.
  • Experience with media monitoring and influencer platforms, and a CRM (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Experience working alongside a sales or clienteling team on shared VIP accounts.
