This role leads the seasonal buy for Kipling, Eastpak and Jansport, delivers performance analysis, and partners closely with the Digital Trade Managers to ensure packs initiatives support both commercial goals and brand equity — with a strong focus on maintaining a healthy full-price vs. markdown balance. The role also acts as the key product knowledge link between Digital Trading and Product teams, ensuring proactive collaboration and insight sharing.

Core Responsibilities

Seasonal Buy Ownership

  • Lead the seasonal buy process for Kipling, Eastpak and Jansport, ensuring alignment with commercial targets, inventory availability, and consumer demand.
  • Define the seasonal buying strategy in collaboration with Planning and Buying, reflecting commercial priorities, consumer trends, and brand positioning.
  • Prepare and present seasonal buy plans during GTM meetings, aligning cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Build SKU- and week-level buy plans to enable performance tracking.
  • Drive SMU product development brief to merchandising based on past performance insights.

Performance Analysis & Insights

  • Analyse sales performance across KPIs: conversion, AOV, sell-through, margin, ASP, ROS, discount rate.
  • Own seasonal key learnings post-season to inform future strategy.
  • Weekly share-out of seasonal performance (Trade, Product, Collab teams): sell-through, best sellers, slow movers.
  • Weekly quantity sell-out forecast using building blocks.
  • Proactively share product performance insights across teams.
  • Monitor returns and reviews in close collaboration with Digital Ops; share weekly recommendations.

Markdown vs. Full-Price Strategy

  • Monitor full-price vs. markdown mix within pack performance and influence decision making on markdown activities with the Trade Managers.
  • Take ownership of sale list creation for markdown periods in collaboration with Planning, leveraging historical data.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as analytical and strategic partner to the Digital Trade Manager.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Buying, Marketing, Site Ops, and Product teams.
  • Serve as the go-to person for product knowledge on .com and future key initiatives.
  • Participate in bi-weekly team meetings (Trade team) to brainstorm actions for healthy seasonal performance.
  • Co-own flow plan with Product team for product lifecycle and offline transitions.

Key Success Metrics

  • Accuracy and commercial impact of seasonal pack buys
  • Sell-through and margin performance of packs
  • Conversion and AOV uplift from pack initiatives
  • Full-price vs. markdown ratio improvement
  • Quality and timeliness of reporting and insights
  • Stakeholder alignment and satisfaction
  • Effectiveness of seasonal forecasting and building block usage

Skills for Success

To succeed as Manager, Digital Merchandising Packs (EMEA), you should combine a strong analytical mindset with commercial and product instinct, translating performance insights into the right assortment, seasonal buys and trading decisions. You will bring 3–5 years of relevant experience in e-commerce merchandising, buying, planning or a similar commercial role, with a strong understanding of key commercial KPIs such as sell-through, margin, conversion, AOV, ASP and rate of sale and the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. Strong collaboration and influencing skills will enable you to effectively partner across Planning, Buying, Product, Marketing and Digital Trade teams, while keeping the consumer and brand at the heart of your decisions.
