Skin Gym | Full-time | Hybrid in Culver City, CA
About Skin Gym
Skin Gym is an independent, female-founded beauty brand making innovative skincare tools, beauty devices, and self-care essentials accessible for everyday routines. From facial sculpting tools and cryotherapy essentials to LED devices and skincare patches, we help consumers bring their favorite beauty rituals home.
We’re looking for a creative, highly organized Social Media Brand & Content Manager to shape how Skin Gym shows up across social. This is an opportunity to build distinctive content, connect with our community, and support a growing beauty brand across digital and retail channels.
Position Overview
The Social Media Brand & Content Manager will own Skin Gym’s organic social strategy and day-to-day content execution, primarily across Instagram and TikTok, with support for Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms.
We’re seeking a self-starter with a founder mentality: someone who spots opportunities, brings original ideas, and moves content from concept to publication without constant follow-up. You should be equally comfortable developing a campaign, filming a product demonstration, editing a Reel, writing a compelling caption, and reviewing performance.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands beauty culture, knows how to make products interesting on camera, and balances strong visual storytelling with clear product education. You’ll work closely with our founders, marketing, creative, e-commerce, and sales teams to support launches, retail initiatives, and brand growth.
What You’ll Own
Social Strategy and Brand Identity
- Develop and execute a social strategy that strengthens Skin Gym’s brand identity, expands awareness, and builds an engaged community.
- Create a recognizable voice and visual direction while tailoring content to each platform.
- Build monthly content plans and quarterly campaign concepts around product launches, beauty trends, seasonal moments, and retail priorities.
- Pitch original, trend-forward concepts that give audiences a reason to watch, save, share, and follow.
- Monitor platform updates, audience behavior, competitors, and emerging creators to identify opportunities.
Hands-On Content Creation
- Own content from ideation through production, editing, approvals, scheduling, and posting.
- Regularly film and edit short-form videos, including product demonstrations, tutorials, founder content, behind-the-scenes moments, and trend-driven concepts.
- Develop strong opening hooks, scripts, captions, and calls to action.
- Translate product features and technologies into clear, engaging content that explains how products fit into a beauty routine.
- Maintain accurate product messaging using approved claims and usage instructions.
- Plan efficient content shoots, including shot lists, products, props, talent, and production schedules.
- Partner with graphic designers and external creatives, providing clear briefs and platform-specific direction.
- Maintain an organized content library and repurpose strong assets thoughtfully across channels.
- Appear on camera as needed and direct founders, team members, and creators during shoots.
Creators and Community
- Partner with our influencer and community team members to develop creator content, gifting initiatives, collaborations, and ambassador opportunities.
- Identify creators whose content and audiences align with Skin Gym.
- Write creator briefs that encourage authentic storytelling while communicating key product benefits.
- Coordinate content permissions and usage rights before repurposing creator assets.
- Lead social listening and coordinate timely responses to comments, messages, and product questions.
- Turn recurring customer questions and feedback into useful content ideas.
- Escalate sensitive customer issues to the appropriate internal team.
Product Launches and Retail Support
- Build social plans for product launches, promotions, and key brand moments.
- Collaborate with e-commerce and sales to support retailer launches, in-store availability, and retail marketing initiatives.
- Create content that helps consumers understand what to buy, how to use it, and where to find it.
- Coordinate social coverage for events, activations, and founder appearances.
- Keep organic social aligned with email, paid media, PR, and broader marketing priorities.
Project Management and Performance
- Maintain a detailed content calendar with clear owners, deadlines, approval stages, and publishing dates.
- Proactively manage production needs and resolve bottlenecks so content publishes on schedule.
- Track reach, video views, watch time, engagement, saves, shares, follower growth, and website traffic.
- Evaluate how content contributes to product discovery and conversion using available reporting.
- Provide concise performance updates with clear recommendations on what to repeat, improve, or stop.
- Test new formats, hooks, and storytelling approaches, then apply what you learn.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in a social media management role at a beauty, skincare, or wellness brand.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong short-form video, brand storytelling, and social content execution.
- Experience owning a brand’s social calendar and taking content from idea to publication.
- Strong mobile video production and editing skills, with proficiency in tools such as CapCut, Instagram Edits, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar.
- Excellent copywriting skills and the ability to make product education engaging and easy to understand.
- A strong eye for beauty visuals, lighting, composition, and product presentation.
- A practical understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and platform-specific audience behavior.
- Experience interpreting social analytics and using results to improve content.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Confidence working independently and collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
- Familiarity with content scheduling platforms and project management tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience welcomed.
You’ll Thrive Here If You
- Bring ideas proactively and take responsibility for executing them.
- Enjoy creating content yourself as much as developing the strategy.
- Understand the difference between a passing trend and an idea that fits the brand.
- Care about both creative quality and measurable results.
- Keep an organized production schedule while making room for timely content.
- Enjoy working closely with founders in an entrepreneurial environment.
Location and Schedule
This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Culver City, California. Candidates must be available to work regularly in person plus content shoots, team collaboration, and brand activities.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary of $75,000–$90,000, depending on relevant experience, portfolio, and demonstrated results.
- PTO
- Employer contribution toward health insurance, with eligibility after three months of employment.
- Vision, dental, and life insurance benefits.
- 401(k) plan + Retirement Plan
- Opportunity to work directly with the founders and help shape the social presence of a growing beauty brand.
How to Apply
Please submit your resume, portfolio, and links to social accounts you have managed. Include a brief explanation of your role in the work, examples of content you personally created, and relevant results.
