Turn Demand Into Production. Keep Manufacturing Moving.
Angelino's Coffee is seeking an experienced, analytical Production & Material Planner to help drive our manufacturing operations through effective demand forecasting, production planning, material procurement, and inventory optimization.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, anticipating operational needs, and turning forecasts into actionable decisions. You'll play a key role in determining what needs to be produced, what materials need to be purchased, and how to keep production running efficiently across multiple facilities.
We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can anticipate shortages, balance manufacturing capacity, and maintain optimal inventory levels. You'll work closely with operations leadership, with the opportunity to progressively assume full ownership of the planning function.
About Angelino's Coffee
Angelino's Coffee is a Los Angeles-based coffee manufacturer and direct-to-consumer brand serving over one million customers nationwide. We roast, manufacture, package, and distribute coffee through our e-commerce platform, Amazon, and other sales channels.
Our operations involve high-volume production, multiple manufacturing partners, and a supply chain requiring careful coordination of materials, production capacity, and finished-goods inventory.
This is a hands-on, analytical manufacturing planning position—not a warehouse or traditional inventory handling role.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Forecasting & Production Planning
- Analyze historical sales, current order volumes, sales trends, seasonality, and promotional activity to forecast product demand.
- Develop and maintain rolling 30-day demand forecasts and production requirements.
- Translate forecasted demand into manufacturing schedules, production work orders, and material purchasing requirements.
- Coordinate production planning across multiple manufacturing and packaging facilities.
- Evaluate manufacturing capacity, production output, and packaging throughput to ensure operations remain balanced.
- Monitor work-in-process (WIP) inventory and prevent unnecessary accumulation of unfinished products.
- Adjust production requirements based on changing demand, including Amazon order volumes, promotional campaigns, and seasonal fluctuations.
- Proactively identify production bottlenecks, material shortages, and potential inventory gaps before they disrupt operations.
Material Requirements Planning (MRP) & Purchasing
- Determine raw material requirements based on sales forecasts, production schedules, bills of materials (BOMs), current inventory, and supplier lead times.
- Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders for coffee, packaging materials, and manufacturing consumables.
- Calculate appropriate reorder points, safety stock levels, and purchasing quantities.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials required for production.
- Maintain appropriate inventory coverage to prevent production interruptions while minimizing excess inventory.
- Plan long-term purchasing requirements for consumables such as cups, paper, corrugated packaging, and labels.
- Monitor supplier lead times, delivery performance, and outstanding purchase orders.
- Verify purchase order quantities, pricing, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
- Identify supply chain risks and recommend adjustments to purchasing and production plans.
Inventory Planning & Control
- Monitor inventory levels across raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
- Maintain accurate inventory records across multiple manufacturing and fulfillment locations.
- Reconcile physical inventory counts with ERP system balances.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including material consumption and production variances.
- Process inventory adjustments and interfacility transfer orders.
- Identify excess, slow-moving, and potentially obsolete inventory.
- Analyze inventory turnover, days of supply, and stock coverage.
- Support initiatives to improve inventory accuracy, reduce carrying costs, and optimize working capital.
ERP, Work Orders & BOM Management
- Create, maintain, and monitor manufacturing work orders within Oracle NetSuite.
- Review and verify bills of materials (BOMs) to ensure accurate component quantities and production requirements.
- Maintain accurate ERP records for purchase orders, production transactions, inventory transfers, and material consumption.
- Review and update purchasing costs and supplier pricing as needed.
- Investigate discrepancies between planned and actual production output or material usage.
- Develop and maintain planning reports, inventory analyses, and production tracking tools.
- Identify opportunities to improve ERP workflows, reporting accuracy, and planning efficiency.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Process Improvement
- Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, purchasing, and fulfillment teams to align production output with customer demand.
- Communicate upcoming material requirements, production constraints, and inventory risks to management.
- Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve shortages, delivery delays, and production scheduling conflicts.
- Establish and maintain effective planning procedures, reporting tools, and operational controls.
- Recommend improvements to inventory management, forecasting accuracy, purchasing efficiency, and production scheduling.
- Gradually assume independent responsibility for routine material planning, production scheduling, and purchasing decisions.
Qualifications
Required
