About the role

PAX is looking for an experienced National Account Manager to support the growth and development of our strategic UK Grocery accounts. Working closely with our appointed importer and distribution partners, the National Account Manager will represent the PAX brand in relationships with major UK retailers and support the effective execution of customer plans across promotions, new product launches, range development, data analysis and ongoing account performance.

This role will act as a key link between PAX, our distribution partners and strategic retail customers, ensuring that customer requirements are understood, commercial plans are executed effectively, and opportunities for sustainable growth are identified and progressed. We are looking for someone with strong experience working with major UK grocery retailers and a detailed understanding of how national retail accounts operate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop strong brand-side relationships with strategic UK grocery retailers, working in close partnership with appointed importers and distribution partners.
  • Act as a key commercial interface between PAX, distribution partners and retail customers, ensuring effective communication, alignment and execution of customer plans.
  • Support distributors in the day-to-day management of strategic retail accounts, including promotional planning, new product launches, range reviews, forecasting and commercial execution.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail buyers, category teams and other relevant customer stakeholders.
  • Coordinate promotional activity with distributors and retailers, including promotional calendars, product availability, execution, performance tracking and post-promotion reviews.
  • Support new product introductions and range development by coordinating retailer requirements, internal teams, distributors and launch plans.
  • Analyse EPOS, sales, distribution, pricing, promotional and competitor data to identify performance gaps and growth opportunities.
  • Monitor account performance, including sales, rate of sale, distribution, availability and promotional effectiveness, and work with distribution partners to develop corrective actions where required.
  • Support customer business planning, range reviews and commercial discussions, ensuring PAX brand priorities are effectively represented.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory and other internal teams to ensure customer requirements and retailer plans are delivered effectively.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with appointed distributors and importers, ensuring alignment on account priorities, retailer service levels, stock availability, promotional activity and product launches.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the UK Grocery market, retailer strategies, category trends, shopper behaviour and competitor activity.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in National Account Management, Key Account Management or a similar commercial role within FMCG, consumer goods or a related sector.
  • Strong experience working with major UK grocery retailers; experience with Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and/or Co-op is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience managing or supporting strategic retail accounts, including promotions, range reviews, new product launches and customer business planning.
  • Strong experience working cross-functionally with distributors, wholesalers or other route-to-market partners would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of UK grocery account management, retailer buying processes, promotional planning and commercial execution.
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience using EPOS, sales, distribution and promotional data to identify issues and drive commercial actions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across retailers, distributors and internal teams.
  • Good commercial judgement and experience supporting pricing, promotional and customer negotiations.
  • Experience working with a high-growth consumer brand, challenger brand or regulated consumer category would be advantageous.
  • A hands-on, detail-oriented and results-driven working style.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
