About the role
Dyson is a global technology enterprise focused on redefining industries through innovation and cutting-edge technology. As part of our Electrical Power Systems team, we develop advanced Battery Management Systems (BMS) for Dyson’s battery-operated consumer electronics products, ensuring high reliability, safety, and performance. If you’re passionate about firmware, embedded systems, and driving new technologies, this role offers you the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on Dyson’s future innovations.
As a Lead Firmware Engineer – Battery Management Systems, you will lead the design, development, validation, and implementation of BMS firmware and software for Dyson’s consumer electronics products. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, hardware, software, quality, and test professionals, you’ll contribute across the full product lifecycle—spanning EVT (Engineering Validation Test), DVT (Design Validation Test), and PVT (Production Validation Test) phases.
This role demands hands-on technical expertise in BMS firmware development, safety-critical software, and cross-functional collaboration across borders.
To excel in this role, you’ll need a combination of strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and innovation. You’ll thrive in fast-paced and challenging environments, leveraging your skills in embedded systems firmware development and cross-functional collaborations.
At Dyson we are encouraged to think differently, challenge convention and be unafraid to make mistakes. We’re creative, collaborative, practical and enthusiastic, but most of all we’re hugely passionate about what we do. We are looking for individuals who wish to invent, design and develop leading products for the global market. By working in our world class Research Design and Development department, these individuals have the opportunity to work alongside other leading technical specialists and highly motivated creative people, to develop products which fulfill our ambition of being truly different and better than our competitors.
Dyson monitors the market to ensure competitive salaries and pension contributions. Beyond that, you’ll also enjoy a profit-related bonus, generous leave and life insurance. However, financial benefits are only the start of a Dyson career. Rapid professional growth, leadership development and new opportunities abound.
