About the role

Magic Mind | Hybrid (CA, TX, CO preferred) | Full-Time

Why is this role exciting?

Magic Mind is on a mission to help millions unlock their mental wealth, transforming brain fog into laser focus, stress into productivity, and energy crashes into all-day performance. We're not just another supplement company. We're building the category-defining brand that helps high performers like Pete Holmes, Kim Kardashian, Justin Kan, and Nathan Florence achieve peak mental performance.

As Magic Mind continues it’s strong growth in retail, the data behind every decision matters more than ever. In this role, you’ll be the person who turns POS, syndicated, and retailer portal data into the story our retail team takes into every buyer conversation, business review, and shelf reset. You’ll work across Whole Foods, Sprouts, Target, Albertsons, Publix, and more, and your analysis will shape where we grow distribution, how we defend shelf space, and which promotions are worth repeating.

This is a high-visibility role with real influence. You’ll report to the VP of Sales with a dotted line to Finance, and partner closely with National Account Managers, finance, and retail digital shopper marketing so the whole company works from one trusted view of how Magic Mind is performing at retail. You’ll have room to build the dashboards, scorecards, and measurement frameworks that make insight available to the team without you in the room. If you love turning messy data into decisions and want your work to show up in real retail results, this is the role for you.

About Magic Mind

Magic Mind has cracked the code on mental performance with our clinically-proven shots featuring 12 premium ingredients including Lion's Mane, Ashwagandha, and time-released caffeine delivered through proprietary nano-encapsulation technology. We're profitable, Series A funded, and growing 2-3x per year with a proven subscription eCommerce model and expanding retail presence.

Our customers aren't just buying a product, they're investing in their mental wealth. From Silicon Valley entrepreneurs pulling all-nighters to athletes preparing for competition, Magic Mind delivers sharper minds, calm energy, and stress resilience when it matters most.

Notable users include: Matthew Stafford, Sean McVay, Pete Holmes, Rufus du Sol, Nathan Florence, Kim Kardashian, Justin Kan, Kevin Rose, and thousands of other high performers who rely on Magic Mind to unlock their potential.

The Role

You will own the business insights and analytics engine behind Magic Mind’s retail growth. Every business review, buyer conversation, and shelf reset decision across Whole Foods, Sprouts, Target, Albertsons, Publix, and more should be backed by a clear, accurate, and timely read on distribution, velocity, and share, not a gut feeling. Your job is to turn POS, syndicated, and retailer portal data into the story our sales team brings into the room, and to help finance keep trade spend, forecasting, and promotional ROI tied to the P&L.

This role exists to make you the analytics partner our retail sales team can trust completely, reporting to the VP of Sales / Head of Retail with a dotted line to Finance, not a reporting function three steps removed from the account relationship. You will build the dashboards, scorecards, and analyses that National Account Managers rely on, own our relationships with syndicated data providers and retailer portals, and work alongside sales, finance, and retail digital shopper marketing so everyone is working from one shared view of how Magic Mind is performing at retail.

What You'll Own

Sales Performance Reporting & Dashboards

  • Own the reporting infrastructure that tracks Magic Mind's retail performance: sell-in, sell-through, distribution (ACV), velocity, in-stock/out-of-stock, and inventory across every retail account
  • Build and maintain self-serve dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent) that let the retail sales team answer their own questions without waiting on a report
  • Build retailer-specific scorecards that track performance against distribution, sales, and share goals by account and by item

Syndicated Data & Market Insights

  • Own Magic Mind's relationship with syndicated data providers (Circana/IRI, NielsenIQ, SPINS, Numerator) and manage the subscriptions, data feeds, and reporting cadences that come with them
  • Translate category, share, and competitive data into insights the sales team can use to defend shelf space, win new distribution, and plan the next pitch
  • Monitor category and competitive trends across every account and flag risks and opportunities before they show up in a business review
  • Understanding/analysis of household penetration and purchase frequency as key metrics through Numerator, etc

Retailer Portal & POS Analytics

  • Own extraction and analysis of retailer-specific data (Walmart Luminate/Retail Link, Target Partners Online, Kroger 84.51°/Stratum, and equivalents at Albertsons, Publix, Sprouts, and Whole Foods)
  • Build the standard reporting templates and ad hoc analyses that turn raw retailer exports into a clear read on performance by account
  • Partner with retail sales to flag in-stock issues, distribution gaps, and velocity problems in time to act on them, not after the quarter is over

Trade Spend & Promotional Effectiveness

  • Build the measurement framework for trade spend and promotional ROI: lift, incrementality, payback, and post-promotion readouts by account and by event
  • Partner with finance on trade spend accuracy, deduction management, and reconciliation so promotional investment ties cleanly back to the P&L
  • Bring a clear point of view on which promotions, price points, and merchandising tactics are working by account, and which aren't worth repeating

Forecasting & Business Planning Support

  • Support retail sales forecasting and demand planning with sell-through-informed inputs, flagging where sell-in and sell-through are diverging
  • Build the data foundation for joint business plans and quarterly business reviews, working account by account with National Account Managers
  • Own new item and innovation tracking: velocity, repeat rate, and distribution build versus plan for every launch

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with the retail sales team as their primary analytics resource, embedded in account planning rather than reporting after the fact
  • Partner with finance to keep trade spend, deductions, and promotional ROI numbers consistent and defensible
  • Partner with the retail digital shopper marketing and brand teams so retail media, digital shelf, and account strategy are grounded in the same performance data
  • Bring sales, finance, and marketing together around one shared, trusted view of how Magic Mind is performing at retail

Reporting & Executive Communication

  • Report performance and insights directly to the VP of Sales / Head of Retail, with regular updates to finance and executive leadership on account and category performance
  • Translate complex data into a clear, concise narrative that a buyer-facing sales rep or an executive can act on immediately
  • Bring a clear point of view on where Magic Mind is winning, where it's at risk, and what to do about it next

About You

You are a CPG analytics professional who has spent real time inside retail data: POS, syndicated, and retailer portals. You know how to turn a messy export into a one-page story a buyer or a sales rep can act on. You are as comfortable building a dashboard as you are sitting in a business review explaining what it means.

Retail Analytics Expertise (Non-Negotiable)

  • Deep, hands-on experience with syndicated data platforms (Circana/IRI, NielsenIQ, SPINS or Numerator) and retailer-specific portals (Walmart Luminate/Retail Link, Target Partners Online, Kroger 84.51°, or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to turn POS and syndicated data into insights that changed a sales or account decision
  • Strong Excel and BI tool skills (Power BI, Tableau, or similar), with the ability to build dashboards other people can use without you in the room
  • A minimum of 5+ years of business insights and analytical experience in retail CPG , ideally early stage and very high growth

Retail Sales Partnership

  • Experience supporting a retail sales or National Account Management team directly, understanding how business reviews, joint business plans, and buyer meetings work.
  • Comfortable being the data expert in a room full of sales and buyer-facing conversations, translating numbers into a story
  • Familiarity with the distinct dynamics of mass, club, natural/specialty, and regional grocery retail

Trade & Financial Analytics

  • Experience measuring trade spend and promotional ROI, including lift, incrementality, and payback
  • Comfortable partnering with finance on deduction management and trade spend reconciliation
  • Understanding of how retail analytics connects to the broader P&L, not just topline sales

Forecasting & Operator Mindset

  • Experience supporting sales forecasting and demand planning with sell-through data
  • Strong analytical instincts: you can diagnose a distribution gap, a velocity decline, or an out-of-stock problem and explain why it happened
  • You build systems. Reporting templates, scorecards, and dashboards are second nature so insight doesn't depend on you being in the room

DTC & Category Awareness

  • CPG experience strongly preferred, ideally in wellness, food and beverage, beauty, or supplements
  • Understanding of how retail performance data should inform digital shelf, retail media, and shopper marketing investment
  • Awareness of FTC disclosure requirements and supplement category claims considerations as they relate to retail-facing claims and reporting

Strategic Thinking Meets Tactical Execution

  • Ability to develop an insights strategy that supports retail growth while rolling up your sleeves to build the dashboards, scorecards, and analyses yourself
  • Skilled at turning business questions into clear, actionable analysis, and at translating raw POS and syndicated data into a story a buyer or sales rep can act on
  • Experience managing syndicated data providers (SPINS/Circana/IRI, NielsenIQ, Numerator) and retailer portals, and connecting that data to larger account plans, trade spend decisions, and forecasting

You're a Culture Fit

  • High EQ/IQ soulful killer
  • Energized by building a brand that helps people feel and perform better every day
  • Thrives in remote, asynchronous work environments with strong communication skills
  • Organized, curious, and proactive
  • Comfortable in fast-moving, iterative environments
  • Natural collaborator who can work effectively across time zones and departments
  • Entrepreneurial attitude towards problem solving and self-starting, ie., high agency.
