Art Director

Doral, FL · Full-Time · In-Person

Art Direction + World Building + Creative Production

The Opportunity

Gaui is looking for an Art Director with 5–7 years of experience, exceptional taste, and the ability to bring a brand's creative vision to life at a world-class level.

We are looking for someone who can think ahead, develop original concepts, and translate them into a fully realized visual Gaui world through campaigns, content, and every other visual touchpoint of the brand.

The role goes beyond directing individual shoots. The ideal candidate is someone who sees the bigger picture, understands how each collection contributes to the brand as a whole, and builds a cohesive visual identity that continues to evolve without losing its point of view.

Working closely with the Brand Director and reporting directly to the Head of Marketing, this person will own the creative process from initial research and moodboarding through pre-production, on-set execution, post-production, and final asset delivery. They will lead the shoot and production calendar, select and coordinate photographers, models, studios, and other creative collaborators, and communicate the vision clearly to the team.

This role is ideal for someone with strong creative instincts and the experience to make things happen. Someone who can develop ambitious ideas within a disciplined budget, work hands-on when needed, and consistently deliver exceptional work without relying on large productions or endless resources.

Gaui is a social-first brand, so the way our world is expressed through content is just as important as the campaigns themselves. The right person understands how to maintain a recognizable visual identity while continuing to experiment, challenge conventions, and find new ways to present the brand.

The Role

The Art Director will lead Gaui's visual direction across collections, campaigns, social media, e-commerce, and other brand touchpoints.

They will develop creative concepts and production plans well in advance, ensuring every collection has its own considered visual world while remaining unmistakably Gaui. From the initial moodboard to the final campaign assets, they will ensure every detail supports the concept and meets the intended creative standard.

This is a hands-on position. Alongside leading and directing other creatives, the ideal candidate has the technical ability to shoot photography or video, create content independently, and step in wherever needed to bring an idea to life.

Responsibilities

  • Build the world of Gaui. Establish and evolve the brand's visual identity across collections, campaigns, social, e-commerce, and other brand touchpoints.
  • Develop each collection in advance. Create distinct creative directions, concepts, moodboards, and production plans months ahead of launch.
  • Own the creative process. Lead projects from initial research and conceptualization through pre-production, on-set direction, post-production, and final asset delivery.
  • Manage the shoot and production calendar. Plan and coordinate upcoming productions, ensuring clear timelines, preparation, and execution.
  • Cast the right creative collaborators. Research, select, and coordinate photographers, models, videographers, studios, locations, stylists, and other production partners.
  • Direct shoots and productions. Lead on-set execution, direct models and collaborators, and make confident creative decisions throughout production.
  • Deliver complete campaign asset packages. Oversee photography, video, social content, editing, retouching, and final deliverables required across channels.
  • Create content hands-on. Bring strong photography and/or video capabilities, with the ability to shoot and produce content independently when needed.
  • Communicate the vision. Develop clear moodboards, treatments, shot lists, and production briefs that align the team and collaborators around the creative direction.
  • Maintain consistency while pushing the brand forward. Protect Gaui's visual identity while experimenting with new ideas, formats, and creative approaches.
  • Work within a disciplined budget. Allocate resources thoughtfully and find creative solutions that deliver exceptional results without unnecessary spending.
  • Uphold a high standard. Take ownership of the final work, from the overall concept to the smallest visual details.

Qualifications + Skills

  • 5–7 years of professional experience in art direction, creative production, photography, brand design, or a closely related field.
  • Experience within a fashion, beauty, or lifestyle brand, ideally in a growing business where creative ownership is hands-on.
  • A strong portfolio that aligns with Gaui's brand aesthetic and demonstrates original concepts, brand world building, campaigns, photoshoots, and social-first creative.
  • Proven ability to take a creative vision from concept through final execution.
  • Strong photography and/or video production skills, with the ability to create content independently.
  • Experience managing production timelines, budgets, pre-production, and post-production.
  • Direct experience with models, lighting, styling, composition, locations, set design, and visual storytelling.
  • Excellent moodboarding, creative presentation, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of Instagram and how creative direction translates into ongoing social content.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and the tools required to execute high-quality creative work.
  • Strong awareness of fashion, photography, art, music, design, film, and contemporary culture.
  • Strong organizational skills, resourcefulness, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high creative standards are a plus.

What We Look For

We value strong taste, original thinking, and the ability to turn ideas into excellent work.

The ideal candidate recognizes what makes a brand visually distinctive and knows how to build on that distinction over time. They understand that consistency does not mean repetition, and that experimentation works best when there is a clear point of view behind it.

They are equally comfortable developing a concept, presenting it to the team, organizing a production, directing a shoot, and getting behind the camera themselves. They know how to make the most of available resources, communicate with clarity, and take responsibility for the final result.

Above all, we are looking for someone who cares about the world they are building and wants to play a meaningful role in shaping Gaui's future.
